Nice summary of what we hope to accomplish...Boris,

Nice summary of what we hope to accomplish with Eclipse Labs. I am hoping once we get some of the details finalized that we can be more specific.Ian Skerretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17602295352818028160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17547394.post-50308365839760206412010-01-19T03:16:42.691-05:002010-01-19T03:16:42.691-05:00Congratulation you've created a new word...

That doesn't sound credible at all.

The only criteria I use to select a hosting infrastructure is the service it provides. The name is completely irrelevant to me.Dann Martenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09810410675637496070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17547394.post-89707631358483349902010-01-18T17:01:25.436-05:002010-01-18T17:01:25.436-05:00One thing that would make EclipseLabs.org the best...One thing that would make EclipseLabs.org the best place to host an Eclipse-related project is if the infrastructure understands Eclipse. For instance, two killer features for me:

- hosting of update sites (SourceForge prohibits or requires you to go through hoops to do that)

- plug-in friendly continuous build farm (for instance, aware of build.properties, can understand bundle manifests)

I wonder if those things are in the plans.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17547394.post-22565153702431312242010-01-18T17:00:43.672-05:002010-01-18T17:00:43.672-05:00Eclipse Labs will be a great opportunity. I'm just finishing the last steps (examples, documentation) to publish redView.
At the moment I've choosen SourceForge, because its easy to use, I have Git, Forums, Mailing Lists, ...
If EclipseLabs is also easy to use and provides these features - then I'll switch immediately.
Of course later it should be possible to move from Labs to Eclipse directly.
ekkeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
